Join Ravens Boat Club

So you've spent years rowing for Bennies and you've had enough and want a break. Well, we'll give you a few months and then you can join Ravens and discover what fun rowing really is!

You'll find Ravens a bit different to your experience as a Bennies rower. For most of us this is our 3 steps to effective regatta preparation:

  • Step 1: 3 weeks before regatta have a paddle (not too strenuous!)
  • Step 2: Celebrate with a Jäger
  • Step 3: Carbo load - muffins are our snack of choice

Joining Ravens
  1. St Benedict’s Parents, Old Boys, Staff and their families are entitled to membership. Others need to be approved by the President and Captain.
  2. Junior membership is not offered without parents.
  3. If you join as a Bennies Old Boy you receive 12 months free membership  (excluding rack fee if you have a boat).
  4. Our fees exclude trisuits, regatta fees (which you pay if you enter), rack fees, GRA and RowSA member fees (again, you only pay these if you enter a regatta).
  5. Membership fees are R1100 per annum and rack fees are R1650 per annum.
  6. You have to join the VLC main club.
